I wrote a letter to the editor in response to that opinion piece. The Journal Star editorial board and I have a long history in relation to letters I write and letters that are published. When I was writing a political blog, I always posted any letter I wrote on the blog as well as what was published in the paper, if anything.
Below is my published letter and then the letter I sent to the paper. The two are almost word for word. Because there is a 250 word limit that I adhere to helping to insure it gets published, I did not say everything I wanted to say. I have put in one word in my original letter in [ ] that was not included because of the word limit. My word count had me at 249 words and I prefer a one word difference to insure the count is within the 250 limit.

The Left, including the ACLU, is waging a war on women. The latest is the nonsense of transsexual “rights” for males/females who think they are females/males.
Biologically, there are two sexes—male and female. Males have XY chromosomes. Females are XX. A male, thinking he is female, is no more female than I am a black female because I think I am.
I was a high school government teacher in Illinois when Title IX was passed in 1972. My Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary © 1995 doesn’t have “transgender” as a word. “Transsexual” became a word in 1957. Title IX never covered “transsexuals.” The Obama administration is not interpreting the law. It is unconstitutionally rewriting the law.
In Alaska recently, a male, thinking he is female, won third in the 200-meter and fifth in the 100-meter dashes at the girls’ state track meet. If he had raced as a male, he would not have been at the state meet. Title IX was passed, in part, to allow sports for females. If this nonsense continues to its logical conclusion, there will be no more girls’ sports. Males, claiming to be female, will dominate.
A person’s rights end when the rights of others are adversely affected. The Left claims the “rights” of less than 1 percent of the population override the rights of everyone else.
I graduated from Morton High School and was a school board member in Arizona. I will fight to the end to stop this attack on females through the Department of Education.

Some cities have tried to and some cities have passed laws giving special “rights” to those who identify as transsexual. The article below deals with a case in which the citizens fought back and prevented a city from imposing special “rights” for transsexuals. One individual, in particular, was an outspoken critic of the proposed law at the council meeting. The article below details how homosexual radicals reacted to his political involvement in the question.
I have stated for years that the most intolerant people in this nation are those who scream “tolerance.” Their “tolerance” is well documented in the article and in the comment section of the “go fund me” website. One of the basic tools of propagandists is “name calling.” Radical homosexual activists employ “name calling” repeatedly. They are the real haters! They know that if the truth wins out, they will lose their “right” to sin.

“The Jacksonville City Council voted on the transgender ordinance, which lost by one vote.
Since then, Adkins says gay [homosexual] activists have targeted him and his business.
‘I succeeded in derailing a local city council ordinance in Jacksonville, Florida, and since then I have been unmercifully punished and demonized by radical gay [homosexual] activists and their liberal allies,’ Adkins told LifeSiteNews.

‘The ‘radical left’ and its gay [homosexual] activist allies retaliated against (me) by pressuring several of my faith-based, non-political clients to drop my firm, Issachar Media Group,’ he said. ‘All in all, this kind of sustained pressure resulted in the loss of several key clients to my public relations firm.’
Adkins added that part of the campaign against him included a Jacksonville attorney backing out of representing Adkins in an unrelated personal injury lawsuit.
Furthermore, Adkins and his wife received an eviction notice for their home in Georgia. Adkins said his landlord was threatened by gay [homosexual] activists with picketing and demonstrations designed to ‘disrupt the community’s right of quiet.’
‘By attacking my home, my business interests, and my potential recovery in a personal injury action, they not only violated my personal life, but they also negated my constitutional freedoms of speech and religion,’ Adkins charged. ‘Overnight, my life became chaos.’
Referring to his gay [homosexual] opponents, Adkins told LifeSiteNews, ‘They seek vengeance. Against these ferocious, coordinated attacks, both in intensity and in scope, I need help. It is why I am asking believers in the Judeo-Christian worldview to help me by contributing to the GoFundMe appeal entitled ‘StandingforGod.’’
A GoFundMe page was set up for Adkins to offset the economic pressure campaign against him. ‘As a black conservative, I have never taken welfare and do not intend to start now,’ Adkins said. ‘However, the radical left’s actions have caused the income of my firm to be reduced tenfold. As a consequence … my firm will be forced into bankruptcy and will also result in several of my long-term employees losing their jobs.’
‘To prevent this disaster from happening—simply because I exercised my American constitutional rights of freedom of expression and belief as well as performing my professional duties to a Christian coalition—I request financial assistance through interim funding,’ the bishop announced.
‘We must stop the bullies who no longer seek democratic dialog but rather seek to force, intimidate, and bully others in order to achieve their political goals,’ Adkins posted on his GoFundMe page.”
