Update on the 2016 Congressional election:
The last election results occurred in Louisiana on Saturday. These were runoff elections where no candidate received 50 + 1 percent of the vote in the primary which was held on election day. The Senate seat was contested and two House seats were contested. All three were won by Republicans. Therefore the new Congress for 2017-2018 will consist of the following:
Senate:
Republicans: 52 members (loss of 2 seats. Lost Illinois and New Hampshire which were expected. The two Senators who lost had 2 of the 3 lowest Conservative Review scores of any Republican Senators up for reelection. The Republicans had 24 seats up for reelection and lost only two of the three most liberal/Leftist members. The Democrats had 10 seats up for reelection. They could have lost Colorado but establish Republican leadership refused to help a conservative Republican to defeat a radical Democrat. The leadership works harder to defeat a conservative than to defeat Democrats. Why is that?)

Next month, hundreds of thousands of people will join the March for Life in Washington, D.C. But what if there were three times that many praying?
January 22nd is the 43rd [44th year since government sanctioned murder] anniversary of the worst Supreme Court decision in our nation’s history [and most immoral]. With Roe v. Wade, seven robed men [five of whom were appointed by Republican Presidents] gave America some of the most permissive abortion [Murder]-on-demand laws in the world. Since that time, nearly 60 million unborn children have been killed [Murdered] in the womb.
This month, January, is the month so many American Christians memorialize the unborn—through Sanctity of Life Sunday (this year on January 15) and the March for Life on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on January 27th—I will be there. The day before that, by the way, my colleague John Stonestreet will be speaking at the Anglicans for Life conference, and then after the march at the Evangelicals for Life conference. As you may know, John and I are very passionate about this issue.
Now, if you can get to Washington, please do! But if you can’t, you can still be a part of the most significant cause of our day: the cause for life. How? Well, the Colson Center for Christian Worldview has produced a free, downloadable booklet called: 21 Days of Prayer for Life. It’s updated for 2017, and we want to see millions of Christians appeal together to heaven to end this grave evil.

Pro-life forces have made major gains in state legislatures across the country in recent years, and new survey data show that 53 percent of millennials believe abortion [Murder] should be either illegal or legal [Abortion is NOT legal now and never has been! Is there any question that the abolition of abortion/murder is a large part of turning from our wicked ways as a nation. I would suggest we make 2017 the year of prayer to abolish abortion/murder within the United States once and for all. Begin praying daily starting January first which is a Sunday to ask the CREATOR of the universe that abortion/murder be abolished within the United States and throughout the world. This should be global. However, we can’t logically and morally ask others to abolish abortion/murder if we are not willing to do the same. Ask your local congregation to do the same individually and at EVERY service and time of meeting together. What a powerful message that will send to members of your own congregation and to any visitors. What power there would be in the whole of Christendom praying and working to abolish abortion/murder. It could be achieved in 2017!
