“Trump’s Child Care Plan Promotes Republican Values
By The Editors
September 21, 2016,

Conservatives talk incessantly about family values, tax cuts and the need to protect the middle class. Donald Trump’s latest proposal will test their resolve.

Trump pitched his child care affordability plan on Tuesday [Since when is the government paying for childcare conservative? The Left has been trying to breakup the traditional family for years! How is paying someone else to care for your child helpful to keeping the nuclear family intact? The Biblical model is a husband [male], wife [female], and children together. The husband is the provider, the mother is the nurturer, and the children are at home growing and learning.], which would establish generous new tax deductions for child care expenses [The purpose of a tax system is to collect income to run the government. It is not to redistribute money from some groups to other groups! The only difference from the normal Leftist policy is that the group who is receiving the benefit is a group conservatives approve of. That does not make it good policy. Government stealing through law is still stealing regardless of who receives the stolen money!]. The plan would offer child care spending rebates, create dependent-care savings accounts, incentivize companies to offer child care at work [Give our money to businesses for a non-business purpose!], reward grandparents who care for grandchildren [Will they now be government employees?], guarantee six weeks of maternity leave [Where does the federal government have the constitutional power to require any business to provide maternity leave? How is that conservative?] and provide tax breaks for stay-at-home parents [Again, the federal government determining winners and losers? Where in the Constitution does the federal government have the authority to give money to certain groups? This is just another step to make MORE and MORE people dependent upon the federal government! This is no more than a vote buying scheme!].

The announcement drew immediate criticism from conservatives who say it sounds like a Democratic plan [It certainly does! Because it is the type of thing that comes from the Left except for the stay-at-home parents. It is more federal government control and dependency!].

‘How many Democratic parties does the country need? We already have one [We have Democrat and another Party that is becoming more and more Democrat-lite!],’ said Charles Krauthammer on Fox News. ‘What he is proposing is to out Democrat the Democrats [Exactly!].’

With all due respect to Dr. Krauthammer, that’s not really true [Wrong!]. Despite the conservative movement’s penchant to selectively limit government, Republicans are not libertarians [That is true! Nor should it be. However, none of these proposals are constitutional because the federal government does not have the power granted to it in these areas!]. They have a long history of championing government pursuits of socially conservative goals [Which may or may not be constitutional! If it is not constitutional, we should not be doing it through the federal government! That is just as true for Republicans as Democrats!]. They spend heavily on law enforcement [For federal government enforcement it is legitimate. For State and local enforcement, it is NOT constitutional!], national defense [Constitutional!], veterans benefits [Constitutional!] and transportation [Interstate transportation is constitutional. State and local transportation is NOT!]. Republican presidents gave us interstate highways, the Environmental Protection Agency [For the most part, unconstitutional!], the Federal Direct Student Loan Program [Unconstitutional!], the ‘drug czar [Mostly unconstitutional and not needed.],’ the Americans with Disabilities Act [Unconstitutional!], the Department of Homeland Security [Constitutional!] and more [You can not justify unconstitutional proposals by saying other past Presidents and Congresses violated the Constitution!].

President Ronald Reagan advocated corporate responsibility for child care services and increased the dependent care tax credit [Dependent care tax credit is just another example of the government taking from one to give to another!]. Reagan, like most conservatives associated with the revolution he led, believed strong, two-parent households with children strengthened the country’s future [That is true! However, it does NOT justify unconstitutional and immoral government action! To do so is NOT conservative!].

Fast-forward to 1997, and conservative columnist George Will wrote a timeless column for Newsweek advocating ‘a GI Bill for mothers [He was wrong!].’

‘Politics has come to seem demoralizingly disconnected from practicality because leaders have been unable to connect their rhetoric with programs,’ Will wrote. ‘They have failed to find ways for government to get a grip on the nation’s principal problem [It is not for the federal government to get involved in this! That the federal government has from the JohnsonGreat Societyon was immoral and unconstitutional and caused much of the breakup of the family!]—the coarsening of the culture that is produced by the brew of toxic behaviors associated with family decomposition [Which was caused to a great extent by federal government involvement which was not and is not constitutional!].’

Will based his argument on concerns raised by James Q. Wilson, then a political scientist, former Harvard and UCLA professor and chairman of the Council of Academic Advisors of the conservative American Enterprise Institute. Then-Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, a Democrat, called Wilson ‘the smartest man in the United States [Is this even relevant?].’ It was an era in which Republicans and Democrats worked together [Working together to increase unconstitutional federal government control is not a positive!].

As Will explained, Wilson warned the political class of a country ‘being poisoned by a subculture that is both cause and consequence of many children’s being born to unwed girls, raised in neighborhoods where there are more male sexual predators than committed fathers, and who matriculate, as it were, into gang life for protection and self-advancement [Caused by unconstitutional federal government programs to a great extent! Now, they want more such unconstitutional programs? The federal government through itsprogramscause negative results. The solution: more unconstitutional federal government programs? That is not conservative. We need to get the government out of the control business; not increase it!].’

He urged public policy that favored children in the parental clash of work and family [Except the federal government has NO constitutional authority to get involved! It is NOT federal government public policy!]. Among a litany of Wilson’s suggestions, Will favored his proposal for a GI Bill-style entitlement that would pay for parents who stay home with young children to later attend college, graduate school or technical institutions [George Wills endorsing it does not make it conservative or constitutional!].

Republican Presidents Herbert Hoover, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and neither Bush were fiscal conservatives by today’s standards. They believed in limiting government’s stranglehold on economic growth, but had no compunction directing the fruits of subsequent or anticipated tax revenues to encourage economic activity and set the country’s course [To violate the Constitution! Government does NOT know best! The federal government is not our parent!].

Trump has promised a pro-family, pro-child, pro-woman agenda in his quest to ‘make America great again.’ His detailed child care plan [Government taking control over that which they have no authority to take control of! Just like the Democrats!] adds substance to the pledge.”

Donald Trump is a big government Democrat! Period!

At Freedoms Back, we aim to foster intelligent, troll-free conversations about the hypocrisy of the self-loathing Left, the current state of U.S. conservatism, and the inside-the-beltway cabal of good ol’ boy bureaucrats who have ruined the Republican party and laid waste to the American dream [Strange! The above proposal is NOT conservative, is a continuation of the inside the-beltway cabal of good olboy bureaucrats who have ruined the Republican party, and is another step in laying waste to the American dream! It a proposal that would normally come from the Left. In fact, the paid leave for six months did!].

We offer the latest conservative news, views, and opinion from Charles Krauthammer, Michelle Malkin, George Will, Ben Carson, Ann Coulter [Ann Coulter IS NOT conservative. She may or may not have been in the past. I do not know. She is not now!], Erick Erickson, and the rest of the ‘Freedom’s Back Pack.’

Enough is enough. Who’s ready to take our freedoms back?”

How do these proposals increase our freedoms? It makes us MORE dependent upon the federal government not less! It also encourages removing children from the guidance of the parents. If the intend is to strengthen families, the unintended consequences will be the opposite. It encourages a break up of the nuclear family with strangers raising the children of the family. Over the course of eighteen years, strangers will spend more awake time with the children than either of the parents. How exactly does that strengthen the family?

Donald Trump is a big government Democrat! Period!

You can not win the election if you do not run for the office. You can not win the election if you do not get on the ballot.

Vote Darrell Castle for President. The Constitutional Conservative!
