This was not my planned post for tonight. I have been watching girls’ high school basket since I was a member of the Marana (Arizona) School Board. During those four years, the Marana girls won a State championship in their class. Then, my daughter started playing and I continued watching. Now, I’m watching the Morton (Illinois) girls’ basketball team. They are back to back State champions in Class 3A. Illinois has four classes with 4A being the largest schools. Morton’s record over the last three years including so far this season is 33-3 in 2014-2015, 33-3 in 2015-2016, and so far this season 28-2 in 2016-2017.
The State tournament started earlier this week. Morton is a 1 seed and is currently the 2nd ranked team in the latest Class 3A poll with a Chicago team listed as the 1st ranked team. Morton won their first game 62 - 31. The team they will play Friday for the Regional Championship played Wednesday night. This afternoon I checked to see who won the game by clicking onto a news story from a Peoria area TV station. That news story led to tonight’s post.
The following is not the news story. It is an article that was posted on one of my pro-life news sources that I had read earlier this month but decided not to post. After reading the news story from the TV station, I decided to post this article tonight.

For anyone who hasn’t already heard, Beyonce is pregnant with twins.
Twin babies, that is [Not twin fetuses?]. Babies who have their own separate bodies and heartbeats [As all babies do.].
The news certainly is nothing to make light of. Every new human being who enters the world is worth celebrating. And Beyonce and her husband, Jay Z, should be congratulated.
But their pregnancy announcement highlights a big problem with today’s abortion [murder of babies within the womb]-minded society. Babies often are only called ‘babies’ when they are wanted. When they aren’t, people often refer to them in less humanizing terms—‘fetuses’ or sometimes even ‘blobs of tissue.’
‘All of this exposes the left’s glaring inconsistency [intended deception], but more importantly exposes the harsh reality of abortion [murder of babies within the womb], which is merely a mandate of death [by murder] for the unwanted unborn,’ the Daily Wire’s Amanda Prestigiacomo wrote Thursday.
‘The left inherently knows that unborn children are human babies [Of course they do. Thus, the necessity for deception and lies.], and call them such when they are wanted, as if merely wanting a baby somehow makes it a baby. Talk about anti-science,’ she continued.
Wantedness is a poor measure [nonexistent measure] of the value of a human life. Even our laws recognize this. The United States does not allow women to kill [murder] their born children because they do not want them or feel they cannot take care of them [Of course not! “Wantedness” is NOT a measure of the value of human life]. Poverty, a parent’s age or educational goals, abuse and other factors are not legitimate reasons to kill [murder. And they are not valid for the murder of babies within the womb.] a born child. They should not be acceptable reasons to kill [murder] an unborn child either, but right now they are considered to be by many in society [They are not and are not constitutionally valid either.].

Pro-lifers are working to move society away from this destructive thinking by helping women find real solutions to their problems, solutions that do not involve killing [murdering] innocent human beings. Thousands of pregnancy resource centers, maternity homes, adoption agencies and other groups are empowering women with material and emotional assistance to help them overcome their circumstances and give their babies a chance at life [Something Planned Murderhood does not attempt to do. The goal of Planned Murderhood seems to be to murder the baby and collect the money. Assassin for hire!]. Sometimes this includes free diapers, baby clothes and rent assistance for women struggling financially, or free child care and scholarships for moms still in school. Other times, it’s temporary shelter, counseling and encouragement for moms leaving abusive relationships.
They also provide women with information that affirms their unborn baby’s value. Facts about an unborn baby’s development—their unique set of DNA [Why it is possible to determine the father of the child. Each child has a mixture of the DNA of the father and the mother. The baby has never been and never will be the body of the mother. Each baby has his/her own body and is a distinct person from conception.] from the moment of conception or their ability to suck their thumb after just 11 weeks in the womb—help women see that their baby is not just a disposable clump of cells [Never has been.].
Though it may be unintentional, celebrity pregnancy announcements also highlight the value of babies in the womb for all of society to see.
Beyonce herself wrote this week, “I have three hearts” in reference to the twins she is carrying. She affirmed that babies in the womb are not only separate bodies from the mother but also unique and valuable individuals [Which is and always has been obvious.].
Even though just in a subtle way, Beyonce’s pregnancy announcement highlighted the reason why pro-lifers work so hard to end abortion [murder of babies within the womb]. We want every baby in the womb to have the chance at life that they deserve [And which the Constitution of the United States guarantees them. Murdering any child in the womb is a direct violation of the Constitution.].”

WEEK is the Peoria area’s NBC TV station. The station got the following story from the Associated Press (AP). The Associated Press is the largest distributor of news in the country. Most media outlets use its stories and regurgitate what the AP has distributed. I immediately noticed the use of the term “fetus” in reference to the baby within the womb in a story I had read from WEEK. I wrote about the story and then went to bed.
This is my normal process in writing a post. I write the rough draft. Go to bed to get a few hours of sleep. Wake up and rewrite the story and/or correct my rough draft mistakes as needed, hoping that I find them all. Then, post the final article.
When I woke up and started to complete the post, what I had written was gone. I either forgot to save it, which happens sometimes, or wrote it on another file that was opened at the time and now couldn’t find it. Either way, I went looking for the news story again.
I found an interesting occurrence. From what I found, the local media that reported the story and did not use the AP as its source did not reference the baby in the womb as a “fetus.” While most of the country was hearing or reading “fetus,” local sources were writing and reporting “unborn child” and “unborn baby.” I had read that the AP has a standing order that, except for celebrity type parents, fetus should be used when referencing a baby within the womb. Is this standing order an attempt to dehumanize the baby because the AP promotes and supports the murder of babies within the womb?
