My campaign theme:

Restore the Constitution
Take Back the Nation

At the present time, the Illinois State Board of Elections and I are in a dispute over my nominating petition. The petitions of candidates for third parties and for individuals were due at the Illinois State Board of Elections by 5PM on Monday, June 27 according to State law. Petitions could either be mailed to the Board or delivered to the Board in person. I chose to mail my petition.

I mailed the petition from Morton which is less than 70 miles from Springfield, Illinois on June 21, 2016the required number of States ratified the Constitution on June 21, 1788. I sent it by certified mail, return receipt requested because, quite frankly, I do not trust Illinois government. I consider it to be one of the most corrupt governments in the nation.

The Illinois Constitution requires a balanced budget each year. I was born and raised in Morton. I graduated from Illinois State University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. I moved from Illinois in June of 1980 to Tucson, Arizona. I moved back to Morton for family reasons in June of 2004. Since at least the 2003-2004 fiscal year, the State of Illinois has never had a balanced budget although required by the Constitution. In the 2015-2016 fiscal year, the State never even passed a budget let alone a balanced budget. Its current budget runs through December of 2016 although the fiscal year ends in 2017. It is projected that the current budget will run a 8 billion dollar deficit. Since I was born, three Illinois Governors have been sent to prison for corruption. One is currently serving a 14 year prison term. Illinois has a history of corruption.

According to tracking by the United States Postal Service, my nominating petition arrived at its destination on June 23, 2016. It was then sent to St. Louis, Missouri that same day. It was not processed in St. Louis, Missouri until June 27th when it was sent back to Springfield, Illinois. It arrived at its destination on June 30, 2016. It took NINE days to travel less than 70 miles to reach its final destination. Since it did not reach its final destination until June 30th, the Illinois State Board of Elections rejected it and sent it back to me on June 30th. I received it at my home address on July 2, 2016. It took two days to travel less than 70 miles. It took nine days to get to the Springfield destination and two days to return to the Morton destination.

The tracking information for the petition mailed from Morton to Springfield:

No. I did not address the envelop incorrectly. I used the mailing address provided by the Illinois State Board of Elections in its PDF from its website entitled:

“State of Illinois
CANDIDATE’S GUIDE
2016
Issued by the STATE BOARD OF ELECTIONS”

I was a tax consultant for thirty years until I retired. I dealt with the IRS for thirty years. Dealing with the IRS, you learn to be meticulous if you aren’t already. I checked, double checked, and tripled checked to make sure the address was correct according to the PDF. The petition arrived at the correct address in Springfield on the 23rd according to the United States Postal Service. I have no control over it after it arrives at its original destination.

If I am not on the ballot as a candidate for the Constitution Party, I will run as a write-in candidate and this experience will be a campaign issue. Win or lose in November, the LORD willing, I run for District 18 in 2018. It may be as a member of the Constitution Party. It may be as a member of the Republican Party. It may be as a member of some other party. I do not give up and I do not surrender. The LORD willing, I will be running once again.

Romans 8: 28 (NIV)

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Ephesians 5: 11 (NIV)

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”

For Life, for liberty
