Abolishing the murder of babies within the womb by Congressional law will actually be faster and more effective than waiting on the court. Right now there are five justices on the court who support the murder of babies within the womb. The four radical Leftist justices appointed by Democrat Presidents and Justice Kennedy. Therefore, to even have a chance of the court reversing, we need two more Constitutional Justices and the second one has to replace one of the five pro-murdering babies within the womb justices. Even then, it would take a couple of years, at least, to get the case through the court system.
Passing a law of Congress is the best way of ending the terror of our American holocaust. The best way to abolish the murder of babies within the womb. The best way to stop any State from passing a law allowing the murder of babies within the womb. And it is also best constitutionally.
Life for all persons within the United States including babies within the womb is guaranteed and protected by the Declaration of Independence, Amendment V of the United States Constitution, and Amendment XIV of the United States Constitution. The existing American health care system faces a myriad of complex challenges. The 2010 passage of sweeping health care reform continues to hold dramatic implications for our health care system and for all 300 million Americans.
I often hear the frustration of Texans struggling to meet their health care needs in the existing system and understand the importance of implementing common-sense reforms [Reforms? What happened to REPEAL?] that achieve results. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), if current laws remain in place, spending on the major entitlement health care programs would grow from 5.5 percent of Gross Domestic Product today to about 8.9 percent in 2046 and would continue to increase thereafter. Additionally, the Medicare trustees most recently reported that the Medicare program’s unfunded liability—benefits the federal government has promised but lacks a plan to pay for—is more than $3.6 trillion and growing. Meaningful health care reform is necessary [Meaning the immediate repeal of Obamacare is necessary.].
The House of Representatives took the first step towards health care reform [Not repeal.] by passing the American Health Care Act (H. R. 1628) on May 4, 2017. As the Senate considers this legislation, I will keep your views in mind and continue to support realistic reforms [Not repeal.] that lower health care costs, address entitlement spending, and increase access to affordable health coverage [The ONLY way to accomplish these are to repeal Obamacare and go back to a free market.]. In light of the recent vote on the American Health Care Act, I wanted to share with you some of my thoughts on the American Health Care Act and the need for major reforms that will create better, cheaper, and more accessible coverage for the people of Illinois’ 18th District.
The Truth about the American Health Care Act (AHCA) [Seriously?]
The Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, was passed in 2010 with some major promises from the Democrats in Congress and the White House. Those promises included that if you liked your doctor you could keep them, that the cost of healthcare would go down, and that you would have more healthcare options. Unfortunately, after seven years we’re 0-for-3 [And the same will be true for the American Health Care Act because it is STILL government control.].
According to 2017 data from Congress’ bicameral, bipartisan Joint Economic Committee, on which I serve, Illinoisans saw an average rise in premiums of 50.3 percent. In one instance, a constituent from Jacksonville, IL saw his $12,281 premium increase to $22,742 – just for 2017. That is an 84 percent rise in his premium for himself, his wife, and daughter. The healthcare market and insurance options have also been declining in other areas of central and west-central Illinois with all of the counties in my district losing at least two insurance providers last year alone [Because it is not a free market. How will the American Health Care Act change any of this? It will not. Because it is not a free market Act. There is no need for an Act to return to the free market.].
The stark reality is that Obamacare is collapsing and failing the people of Illinois’ 18th district [The stark reality is that the American Health Care Act is no better still featuring federal government control rather than a return to the free enterprise system and it too will collapse and fail the people of Illinois’ 18th district. Except if it passes and is implemented, the Republican Party will be blamed for the failure and the Left will scream for total government control of healthcare through a single payer system and the people of Illinois’ 18th district will lose three times.]. Both parties, and both of last year’s presidential candidates, agreed: Congress must act to significantly change our healthcare system. Now it’s time to find out if he means it.
Americans just repudiated the colossal disaster that is Barack Obama. At the center of his failed presidency—Obamacare.
Mitch McConnell knows this. It’s why he campaigned so hard against the Affordable Care Act. In radio and television ads, in speech after speech, McConnell promised to repeal Obamacare. The Republicans hung this monstrosity around Democrats’ necks. It is the primary reason the GOP prevailed Tuesday.
New Republican Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa pledged ‘immediate action to repeal Obamacare’ and ran a campaign ad featuring her firing a pistol at a shooting range with the voiceover, ‘Once she sets her sites on Obamacare, Joni’s going to unload.’
New Republican Senator Cory Gardner [Cory Gardner was a member of the House of Representatives before being elected to the Senate.] of Colorado promised to repeal Obamacare and ran ads against it vowing to ‘shake up the Senate.’
New Republican Senator Thom Tillis called Obamacare, ‘a disaster.’
In fact, running against and promising to get rid of Obamacare became the go-to issue for Republican candidates across the country, with over 35,000 pro-repeal television ads aired in October alone.
This Republican majority didn’t just happen accidently [sic]. It was a mandate, promised by Republicans and expected by voters.
This new Republican majority is the Repeal Obamacare Majority.”]
Since the vote, there has been quite a bit of fearmongering and misinformation about this bill. First and foremost, this bill does not undermine preexisting conditions [Then, it does not repeal Obamacare. Preexisting conditions is a fraud. It is not insurance. While states are able to be granted waivers from certain requirements mandated at the federal level, these waivers will only be granted if the state can produce a plan that meets strict requirements [Federal government controls. How is that free market policies?], including a plan to keep costs low for those with preexisting conditions [Whose plan? Why? Is this free market policies?]. Contrary to the apocalyptic claims by my colleagues on the other side [Leftists], the AHCA does not leave those with preexisting conditions behind [Because the American Health Care Act is not based on free markets. It is based upon federal government control just as Obamacare is. There has been no repeal. There is only tinkering around the edges of Obamacare to give the American people a somewhat different monstrosity that will fail just as Obamacare has. Do you not understand this basic economic fact of life? Do you not understand economics and the free market?].
I was also proud [Seriously?] of the open process [Open process? Really? If it was an open process, Obamacare would have been repealed. Repeal was the ORIGINAL promise.] this bill went through, following the normal legislative process and ‘regular order’. Each of the relevant committees held insightful hearings on the bill [To repeal Obamacare?], open to the media and the public, where my colleagues worked to craft positive reforms [Reforms? What happened to repeal lock, stock, and barrel? It is no more than an adjustment of the government control of health insurance.]. Throughout all of this, the bill’s text was up online for all to read at readthebill.gop, making sure that the public was not in the dark [Right? Because so many people follow the progress of a bill in committees. After the committee hearings, how many times was the bill rewritten by the leadership? How many days passed before the final bill was put to a vote? Were amendments allowed on the floor of the House after the “final” bill was presented to the House? If so, how many?].
Finally, right before the vote on the AHCA, we also passed a bipartisan bill preventing Members of Congress and their staff from being exempt from the healthcare bill [Which means it was still a bill establishing federal government controls over health insurance and NOT a repeal.]. I have always maintained that Congress should play by the same rules as everyone else.
These false claims by the other side have distracted from the positive reforms [Revisions not repeal. Do you realize you are admitting that Obamacare WAS NOT REPEALED?] that the AHCA will bring. While not perfect, our bill provides real solutions that will drive down costs [Prove it. Barack Hussein Obama said the very same thing about Obamacare. He lied.], increase access [Prove it. Barack Hussein Obama said the very same thing about Obamacare. Access to what? Government controlled health insurance?], and increase the quality of care for the people of Illinois’ 18th [Prove it. Here is a hypothetical example of how “pre-existing condition” works under Obamacare. An adult has never had insurance coverage. He may or may not have paid the “tax” for not having coverage. At age 62, he is feeling bad so he goes to the doctor. The doctor tells him he has stage 4 cancer. He rushes to an insurance company and buys healthcare insurance. The insurance company can not charge him more for his policy because he has stage 4 cancer. The insurance company can not deny him a policy.
“Pre-existing condition” is great for the person with stage 4 cancer who didn’t have insurance before the cancer was discovered. Not great for all the other people who are paying higher rates so that the insurance company can afford to cover the costs of the man’s stage 4 cancer. Insurance companies can not stay in business without making a profit. If everyone pays the same for coverage regardless of how sick or well they will be, the healthy pay for the sick. The sicker you are the greater you benefit from the system. The healthier you are the more expensive the system is for you individually. It turns the concept of insurance cost/benefit upside down. The healthy are penalized. The sick are rewarded. Plus, the incentive is to NOT have insurance until one gets really sick and then let others cover the cost of your sickness.
It’s similar to buying home insurance after your house burned down and having the insurance company cover your losses. It’s similar to not having car insurance for your Lamborghini, having an accident totaling the car, buying insurance for the car after the fact at the same rate that everyone else pays, and the insurance company paying for the loss. It turns the concept of insurance upside down and it increases costs because everyone else who continually has health insurance has to help pay for the “pre-existing condition.”
The federal government has no constitutional authority to be involved in either healthcare insurance or healthcare. Both are reserved to the States. There should have never been a Department of Health and Human Services, an Obamacare law, or the proposed American Health Care Act.
The ONLY VALID solution for the Republican Party is to REPEAL Obamacare lock, stock, and barrel. Obamacare must not be replaced or revised. Obamacare must be repealed totally and completely and before the election in 2018. The Republican Party will be held accountable. The Left will make sure of that. The Left is not held accountable by the Republican Party but the Left does hold the Republican Party accountable. The Republican Party will pay a terrible price if they do not repeal Obamacare.
I have no doubt that if the Democrats had offered the exact contents of the American Health Care Act in 2010 as their own purposed bill, every Republican would have voted against it as they did with the original Obamacare Act and every Democrat would have voted for it as they did with the original Obamacare Act. Both Obamacare and the America Health Care Act are government control Acts geared to replace free markets with an all controlling central government. Neither should be the law of the land.
